Prayer

when life is going topsy turvy,

when life seems too heavy to carry on

when there is everyone who needs your strength

when there is no one you can lean on

pray my girl, for there is strength only in prayer

ask for the divine to be your friend

stretch your arms in askance

only on it can you depend

there is no one who can help you out

there is no one who will be able to understand

you are alone in this path of god

there will be no other helping hand

this is the truth you will have to face

and never forget in your life

you are alone in all relationships

be it daughter, mother or wife

The day you remember all the time

your sense of being alone in it all

you will know better than to depend

you will not cry after every fall

because then you will know that there was no one

once you know the truth it will hurt you less

you will know that it is a blessing indeed

you will be free from all bondage

you will be free from anger, envy or greed

for you know that nothing is yours

nothing ever will be yours till this life does end

you have no one to call yours

so you will become your best friend.
